Children need time to explore and discover their world.
As a Reggio inspired program our teachers partner with students to dive deeper into big questions.
Our teachers use the environment as the third teacher and engage in research-based practices while infusing the arts and academics into passion-driven questions and curiosities.
Collaborate with co-educators to create a vibrant student centered Reggio-inspired experience and participate in advancing the school vision.
Empower students to create questions and develop projects that lead them to create, invent and express their thinking.
Create a student-centered classroom environment where student passion and interest is valued and empowered, where relationships serve as the foundation of the community.
Build a classroom community where social/emotional/behavioral development is built on relationships and a mindset for growth.
Apply research-based teaching strategies to the design of instruction, accept growth feedback with positivity and continually pursue refining teaching skill.
Curate documentation (floorbooks, child portfolio's, and brightwheel) of student thinking and creative process and coach student projects and monitor progress through evidence of mastery.
Collaborate with co-educators, Pedagogista, and others to develop driving questions, problems and design challenges based on academic standards.
Collaborate with colleagues to assess effectiveness and promote organizational learning.
Seek to continually grow as a Reggio inspired educator, an innovator and accomplished instructor by engaging in consistent goal setting, research, and growth towards the practice and craft of teaching and learning.
(minimum of 15 hours/yr) Ensure safety and supervision of the children while allowing developmentally appropriate risk assessment.
Establish and maintain relationships with children, families, and Co-Educators Complete observations for individual portfolios (2x's a month), authentic assessment tool (3x's a year) and parent-teacher conferences (2x's a year).
Attend monthly school meeting and participate in Mill Creek ECP family/school events.
