Summary:
The Senior Programming Manager is responsible for overseeing, guiding, and mentoring the programming team at Suncast.
This role leads the planning, execution, successful delivery of programming projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and implementing fixes to existing code.

Responsibilities:
The following duties are considered essential to this position.

Actively write code contributing to programming tasks and have their own set of projects and tasks.
Effectively manage and lead a team of both onsite and remote associates.
Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of all programming projects, ensuring quality solutions are delivered on time, on budget, and meet the needs of the organization.
Provides strategic guidance and facilitates effective communication between internal and external stakeholders Evaluate and analyze business requests from associates to determine feasibility, alignment with business objectives, resource availability, and effectiveness of recommended solutions.
Anticipate the potential consequences downstream of system changes and mitigate any adverse effects on the integrated environment.
Oversee and manage the end-to-end source control process, including program versioning, code review, testing procedures, and the promotion of new applications and fixes to production.
Ensure a robust and controlled software development lifecycle, guaranteeing the quality, security, and successful deployment of programming solutions within established timelines.
Ensure the development and maintenance of secure code practices across the programming team while prioritizing the security of Suncast digital assets and strict adherence to regulations and laws governing data privacy is central to all development work.
Maintain system software through writing fixes or enhancing functionality.
Develop project costs and budgets for selected projects; monitor usage, account for deviations, and adjust as necessary.
Create and manage a strong governance program over the definition, development, and implementation of solutions including but not limited to policies, procedures, documentation standards, and programming standards Assess project requirements and coordinate with the programming team, propose solutions, and seek approval of proposed solutions.
Ensure thorough training sessions for users on new systems are completed (encompassing one-on-one, group, train-the-trainer, and comprehensive documentation approaches).
Investigate and propose productivity tools, application software, and related hardware as needed.
Recommend suitable training opportunities for both them and their team, ensuring that the programming teams remain at the forefront of industry trends and best practices.
Management
Responsibilities:

Capable of exercising sound, fact-based judgment and making prompt business decisions.
Ability to lead meetings to discuss computer system development and implementation.
A deep understanding of the interconnected applications within ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), WMS (Warehouse Management System), and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) solutions.
Acknowledge and anticipate the potential consequences downstream of system changes and mitigate any adverse effects on the integrated environment.
Ability to lead training sessions for new programs.
Ability to log and document support calls, programming requests, and their respective resolutions.
Ability to stay abreast of emerging technologies, methodologies, and techniques relevant to managed areas.
Engage in discussions with the ITS Director and HR Director regarding staffing matters, including recruitment, hiring processes, and employee disciplinary actions.
Advanced proficiency in problem definition, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions.
Skilled in interpreting a wide range of technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagrammatic form, handling both abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to be on call and required to handle emergencies.
Explain company policies to staff and enforce safety regulations.
Ability to support and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping methods.
Suncast policies have been developed to ensure compliance with employee law.
