Responsibilities:
Department staffing assistance:
Replace any absent or reassign team members to ensure there is proper coverage to cover daily workload.
Schedule team members to assist other departments with cleaning and other housekeeping assignments.
Orient new team members on department cleaning procedures.
Teach team members the proper use of all department equipment, cleaning supplies and chemicals.
Department organization:
Maintain and document quality control inspections; immediately correct quality control problems and further provide skill set retraining as needed or as assigned.
Organize and distribute supplies as requested; maintain inventory par levels, track inventory and supplies according to department needs.
Inspect department equipment and equipment maintenance logs based on the intervals set by the department; coordinate any repairs, maintenance needs, cleanliness and safely of equipment.
Coordinate the maintenance of hazard-free work and storage areas ensuring all equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored at all times.
Housekeeping/Cleaning:
Perform cleaning functions following an established schedule and departmental standards and infection control guidelines.
Including but not limited to the following tasks; cleaning resident homes/rooms, cleaning public areas, floor maintenance, cleaning emergency spills, trash/recyclables pick-up, participation in routine project cleanings, etc.
Participate in cleaning process/procedure for move-ins/transfers/discharges in accordance with department standards.
Move furniture as needed.
Assist in resident moves at time of transfer/discharge.
Linen Program:
Participate in campus linen program, including distributing, collecting, counting and preparing for pick-up as well as handling the in-coming linen.
Participate in making beds for residents as needed.
Community support:
Observe and report the need for repairs to facilities, furniture, fixtures, etc.
Participate in receiving campus supplies, deliveries and putting away as needed.
Participate in campus snow and ice salting as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Education and Work
Experience:
Required Degree:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
2 years of housekeeping and/or general maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Experience leading a team is preferred.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to preform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors and team members.
Bilingual skills a plus.
Basic computer skills Physical Requirements:
This position requires constant mobility, including bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching.
This position requires the routine use of ladders and floor equipment.
This position requires the ability to push, move, and operate specialized equipment, supplies, etc.
not normally exceeding 100 lbs.
The ability to carry/transport weights, not normally exceeding 50 lbs.
This position will experience exposure to weather, temperature changes, fumes, etc.
There is some risk of exposure to hazardous materials and cleaning chemicals.
