Industrial Engineer

You will
hold a critical role in our company by being part of a dynamic, hardworking team
that impacts the growth of Flinn through our warehouse operations. ?You
will have a direct influence and ability to make a difference within the
science community as our organization continues to grow.?


Big Picture View


You will be responsible for determining
the most effective ways to improve processes and performance. You will be
tasked with developing ways to increase productivity, maximize efficiency, and reduce
waste. Understanding product flow and shop floor optimization, as well as
completing labor hour forecasting, critical path analysis, capacity analysis, and
staffing analysis will be central to your role.


The Industrial Engineer ?
Day-to-Day:
?



  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to move
    products through our facility and to promote efficient utilization.

  • You will be responsible for creating and
    implementing project plans utilizing project management tools such as; GANTT
    Charts and risk mitigation tools.

  • Slot products into warehouse operations in order
    to maximize efficiencies and movements within the facility.

  • Review production schedules, orders, and related
    information to obtain knowledge of warehouse operation methods, procedures, and
    activities.

  • Estimate production costs, cost saving methods,
    and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management
    review, action, and control.

  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials,
    and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and
    computer.

  • Coordinate and implement quality control
    objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize
    product reliability, or minimize costs.

  • Communicate with management and user personnel
    to develop production and design standards.

  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of
    personnel, material, and utilities.

  • Develop operational methods, labor utilization
    standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility
    utilization.

  • Apply statistical methods and perform
    mathematical calculations to determine operational processes, staff
    requirements, and production standards.


What You Bring to the Team



  • Experience with leading large complex projects; meeting
    critical milestones, advising on timeline changes, and seeing projects through
    to successful completion.

  • Knowledge of the practical application of
    engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles,
    techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various
    goods and services.

  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing
    related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production
    processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the
    effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of
    alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and
    principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints,
    drawings, and models.

  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or
    is likely to go wrong. After recognizing the problem, communicate issue and
    possible solutions with team members.

  • Excellent
    communication skills; both verbal and written.

  • Understanding of inventory control systems: bar
    coding, bin locations, inventory moves.

What You Need to be Successful


Bachelor?s degree in engineering
or related field required. Three to five years of Industrial Engineering
experience with a focus on manufacturing/distribution operations. Understanding
of Lean/ Six Sigma principles is preferred. Project
Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management
(CAPM) designations are preferred.
Previous experience with Computer Aided
Design (CAD) software, inventory management software, and supply chain software
is a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
